The egg is such a compelling
subject to paint- classical and
timeless. Artists throughout
the centuries have rendered
it's image in oil, fresco and gold.
When I chose this simple, ordinary egg and decided to paint it in a faux guilded frame -
I was aware that, although I can't claim now or anytime in the near future that any of my paintings can be considered "Masterpieces"...this humble object certainly is a one in every sense of the word- for out of this fragile orb comes the greatest Masterpiece of all...NEW LIFE.
